Description

This drawing just looks okay so I need your feedvack on how to make it better. Its so hard to make my face looks just like the person I'm drawing it of. The scan made my lines look messy. Why won't the scanner make it look exactly like the artwork. The left side of the face looks very odd. I also only have a regular pencil.
CURSE YOU!
I drew this photo from a magazine which was weird because I can't really see all of the details. This drawing was just practice. I need your guys help.

The left eye is a bit too high and too far to the left. Also I would say that the face is a bit too long... Sometimes that happens when there isn't much shading to do, like in magazine photos where the lighting is full on, so the drawings end up looking flat and long. I think if you looked closely for any shadows in the reference photo and then just exaggerated them just a tad, then that might help add some depth.
If I were you I would blend that neck shadow out a bit... I don't know how realistic you want it but the line looks a little harsh and blending it would make it more realistic. (Even if in the reference pic its a harsh line, sometimes you gotta just do something different for your drawing since things get lost in the pic-to-drawing translation, so to speak, and they just won't ever look right ;) )
Lastly I would extend the shoulders, especially the right one, and that will make for a more satisfying composition.
I hope that all makes sense!!
Overall, good job! Did I guess the model correctly? :)
